BIEN RELEASES THE VISUALS FOR “A STUDENT”
Bien Gives “A Student” a visual treatment
Following a highly successful 2023, which saw Bien make massive steps in his career, the Sauti Sol member has started the new year on a high.
In 2023, Bien released a lot of music and featured in high-profile collaborations. In February, he featured Nigerian artist Ayra Star on “My Baby,” which became a big hit before featuring in Darassa’s “No Body.” In May, he released “Too Easy” with DJ Edu.
SolFest and ‘Alusa, Why Are You Topless?’ Album
Towards the tail-end of the year, Sauti Sol performed at SolFest, and shortly after, Bien would bring his fans another surprise package, the album Alusa Why Are You Topless?
The album, which featured the meme-worthy album cover, quickly became the butt of the joke. Kenyan comedians photoshopped their faces on Bien’s body, with some joking about the size of the arms. The album was successful, reaching #1 on Spotify and Apple Music in Kenya.
The year ended on a high with Bien’s “Ma Cherie” named 20th in Rolling Stone’s Best Afropop List. Fast forward to 2024, Man a Bald Man has set the ball rolling with a new video. Earlier this morning, he posted on his social media pages with the caption

Video Coincides with KCSE Results
“A Student” gets a timely visual treatment on the day KSCE results are announced in Kenya. From the caption, Bien encourages the students that their grades should not deter them from chasing their dreams.
The chorus goes:
Mama I don’t wanna be the “A” student, working for the “B” students, kwa company ya “C” students, in the land of the “D” students.
The Music Video
Directed by talented videographer Omoke, the video is simple and clean. It features dark greys and whites, with Bien, the video’s star, appearing solo throughout the video.
In the background is a tall building with the writing “Alusa.” The song of the album Alusa, Why Are You Topless? is the second with a video and talks about the dynamics of school life. With the tables turning after school.
