Boutross Drops “Intro Freestyle” off the Upcoming ‘Mtindo’ Album
Boutross Munene has released his first 2024 single, “Intro Freestyle,” off his upcoming album ‘Mtindo.’ The song is produced by Oriedo 40.
The “Angela” hitmaker has been teasing his new single since the beginning of the year. After an eventful December, which included a trip to Seychelles, Boutross began hinting to fans that they should expect a new song.
On Wednesday (January 10), Boutross posted a photo while in Mauritius with the caption,

More Boutross “Intro Freestyle” Teasers
As the set date approached, anticipation for the song grew. On Tuesday (January 16), Boutross posted a photo of a puzzle on Instagram with a caption showing that only a few hours remained.
Boutross made the official announcement a few hours later in a post captioned,

The post displayed the song’s artwork and title, including Boutross’ animated character. The cover depicts a group of people with their arms stretched out in front of them, holding papers that resemble contracts.
Earlier this month, he was featured on “Nakam” by Kaa La Moto alongside Ssaru.
Kabla Mtindo and Mawingu EP
In 2022, Boutross released two projects. In April, he released Kabla Mtindo, followed by Mawingu EP later in the year. The latter was an 8-song EP that gave spawned to “Angela.”
“Angela” became a sensation on the airwaves in 2022 before it skyrocketed in popularity in 2023. Boutross released “Misbehaviour” featuring Fathermoh and Savara in 2022 while the “Angela” craze was still ongoing, igniting the streets with the song.
From TikTok challenges to the official music video release, the song became a sensation in 2023, garnering millions of views and quickly becoming a fan favorite. Boutross claimed that the EP was meant to give fans a glimpse of what to expect from Mtindo.
