Kaa La Moto Serenades Lover on New Song “Nakam”
Mombasa-based rapper Kaa La Moto has enlisted Ssaru and Boutross on the new song titled “Nakam.” The song and accompanying visuals arrived a few days after he teased his fans of their release.
This is his first single of 2024, in what already appears to be a great year for Kenyan music.
The song marks the first time the three artists link up on a song. Kaa La Moto, who has been active recently, preceded “Nakam” with “Mambo” featuring Stevo Simple Boy on December 15, 2023.
Production and Storyline
Produced and Engineered by Grandmastatek, “Nakam” deviates from the hardcore hip-hop sound associated with KLM, featuring a smooth, mellow instrumental.
In a conversational style, the two lovers (Kaa La Moto and Ssaru) engage in a phone call with KLM, telling his beau that he is on his way home. On the other hand, Ssaru urges him to hurry up, teasing him about what she has prepared for a great night.
Kaa La Moto Teases the release of “Nakam”
Before the release, Kaa La Moto posted separate videos. One of the trio in the studio working on the song.
The second was of him outside a car en route in Kisii, urging fans to expect the song on Thursday (January 11) at 10:00 AM EAT.
Music Video
Directed by Voda Salano, the visuals don’t feature any artists. The music video starts with Kaa La Moto and his manager in the car talking before they are interrupted by a phone call.
The manager asks if KLM will answer the call, which he accepts, with the phone call conversation going on for most of the video. Boutross comes clutch in the last verse in true Boutross fashion.
This marks Ssaru’s first feature of 2024, following her single “Yega Master” towards the tail-end of 2023, and Boutross’s first feature, following a highly successful year in 2023.
