Njerae Drops Striking Video for “Colors” Featuring Bensoul
Following the release of her second EP under Universal Music Group, Njerae returns with a stunning music video for “Colors.” The song is a collaboration with Grammy Award winning Kenyan artist Bensoul.
Directed by Black Jurist under his production outfit Just District, the video captures the vibrance and chemistry between the two.
Featuring Kenyan fashion labels like Makasi, it pays homage to Nairobi’s circular fashion scene, spotlighting labels such as Who Is Closet and others that add flair to the music video.
Meaning Behind “Colors”
Colors is really about connection. The way two people can exist in completely different worlds but still meet in the middle through feeling. It’s warm, a bit flirty, and layered, just like love itself. Ben and I wanted to capture that push and pull between softness and intensity, the kind that feels alive but grounded. The energy is soulful and bright. It sounds like sunshine after rain.

“The song came together so naturally. Ben and I had been wanting to create something that felt timeless yet fresh so when the chords started flowing, the rest followed. It was one of those sessions where everything aligned. The melodies, the chemistry, the message” Njerae shares.
Behind the Sound
Marking their first collaboration, they teamed up with acclaimed producer and frequent collaborator Kobby Worldwide.
Njerae, who has had a stellar year, dropped her surprise EP on Wednesday, October 15, with “Colors” featuring Bensoul as the lead single.
Known for his knack for matching artists to his signature blend of R&B and Afro-pop, Kobby once again delivers a sound that’s both fresh and instantly catchy on “Colors.”
Njerae and Bensoul’s Successful 2025
Both artists have had an incredible year. Bensoul’s hit “Kautamu Flani” received a SAMA Award nomination and Njerae has had an unstoppable run. That makes this record a standout moment for Kenyan music in 2025.

Njerae’s year has been full of wins. From joining Bien on his Alusa Continua Tour, to playing her first show abroad in Bradford, England, during the Blankets & Wine UK Edition, to her Four Letter Word EP crossing 3.7M streams.
She’s also been named a Spotify EQUAL Ambassador, part of Apple Music’s Africa Rising Class of 2025, and one of YouTube’s Foundry Class of 2025.
