iPhoolish Links Up with Katapilla & Zex bilangilangi on “Nyo”
iPhoolish formerly of Mbuzi Gang, has a new song titled “Nyo” featuring Katapilla and Zex bilangilangi. Keeping it true to his roots, “Nyo” is a Kisii language term.
Produced by Vic West of Black Market Records—the man behind many hits such as “Kuna Kuna,” “Misbehaviour,” and many more—the song drifts from the usual club-type party sound. The song features a drill/trap beat, a familiar playground for Katapilla, while iPhoolish holds his own in the opening verse.
On Tuesday (January 9), iPhoolish took to Instagram to post a video snippet announcing that new visuals were dropping the next day. The post was captioned:

iPhoolish Yinga EP and Upcoming Project
iPhoolish released a 5 track EP titled Yinga in March 2023. Since then, he has been relatively quiet, albeit still performing with his old crew throughout 2023. Later in the year, he was featured on the track “Goshodo” by his former mate Joefess.
On Friday (January 8), he teased a new project. Dubbed ‘Niseme,’ the project is expected to feature some of the big artists in Kenya but does not have a release date yet.
Katapilla’s “Nyo” Verse and 2023
Katapilla, featured in the second verse, blesses the track with his signature style, showcasing his fire flows and fast-paced delivery.
While shining the light on “Nyo,” this is not the first time iPhoolish and Katapilla are collaborating. The latter was featured on “Stamina” off the Yinga EP, with the song also featuring Harry Craze and former mate Fathermoh.
Katapilla had a great 2023 and was in his fans’ ears throughout the year. Along with releasing the album ME AGAINST ME, he won the Unkut Hip-hop Award for Best Album for the same album.
Later in the year, he released the visuals to the album’s lead single, “Pressure,” featuring Hassano and SewerSydaa in November. Opara wrapped up a successful year with yet another feature on SewerSydaa’s album Mauru Unit on the song “Seasaw.”
